An expert in refrigeration and air-conditioning technology with a focus on thermomechanics, he plays a key role in ensuring comfort and energy-efficient solutions. His work contributes to achieving optimal indoor conditions while minimizing environmental impacts.
He serves as a professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology (STU), at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Brno University of Technology (VUT Brno), and at FH Technikum Wien. His main areas of expertise include the complex issues of heat transfer and thermomechanics, as well as refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, with an emphasis on utilizing natural physical principles and local sources of energy and cooling.
He leads a team that has long been dedicated to topics of energy sustainability and the innovative use of both traditional and non-traditional energy sources, especially in the field of buildings.
Prof. Masaryk graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at STU (1987) and the Faculty of Arts at Comenius University (1986). In 1994, he defended his doctoral thesis in Thermomechanics and Fluid Mechanics. Between 2000 and 2006, he worked as the founder and lead expert of the high-tech start-up company OPEN NT, funded by venture capital investors. Since 2007, he has returned to academia, and in 2021 he was awarded the title of professor in the field of Energy Machines and Equipment.
