doc. Ing. Zuzana Straková, PhD.
University teacher at Slovak University of Technology
Authorized civil engineer for technical, technological and energy equipment of buildings
Faculty of Civil Engineering. Slovak University of Technology, Bratislava
An expert in building ventilation, she is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. Currently, she is the only university-level associate professor teaching building ventilation in Slovakia.
She specializes in the design, implementation, and management of ventilation systems in various types of buildings. Her role is to ensure optimal indoor environments in terms of air quality, temperature, and humidity.
In her design work, she focuses on the proper selection of ventilation systems to deliver the required air quality while ensuring energy efficiency. An important part of her approach includes taking into account the specific needs of each building, along with ongoing monitoring and maintenance.
In today’s context—where sustainability and energy efficiency are a priority—she seeks innovative solutions and integrates modern technologies into her work.
Lectures

Energy-saving measures in ventilation systems
The lecture is devoted to energy-saving measures in air conditioning with a focus on improving the quality of the indoor environment and reducing operating costs. It explains the principle of heat and moisture recovery through recuperation and regeneration and emphasizes the need for cooperation between the architect and the technical specialist already at the building design stage. The conclusion focuses on the importance of these solutions in the context of climate change, user health and the requirements for low-emission and intelligent buildings.
