He works as an independent research fellow at the Institute of Hydrology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (a public research institution), where he also serves as Chair of the Scientific Council.
In both research and teaching, his focus is on the hydrology of urbanized areas, water quality, hydrodynamic dispersion, and numerical modelling.
He is the author of more than 220 scholarly publications and has supervised dozens of final theses.
He has carried out over 24 research projects—including international ones under FP7 and Horizon 2020—and has contributed to more than 50 professional assignments and 35 expert assessments.
As a project manager, he led a project funded by the Cohesion Fund.
